Miracle and the Block follows Sh’Miracle, a young woman growing up on the South Side of Chicago, as she navigates hardship, loyalty, and the dream of breaking free from the cycle around her. Alongside her best friend Ja’Precious, she faces the realities of street life, family struggles, and the pressures of survival. Her brother Charles and Ja’Precious’s brother T’Ron represent two different paths—one toward hope, the other toward danger. As Sh’Miracle begins to discover her voice and ambition, she’s forced to make choices that test her strength and heart. The film’s raw storytelling captures both the pain and beauty of the block that raised her. Directed by Ta’Shawn, it’s a gritty yet inspiring portrait of resilience, transformation, and the power of self-belief.

About The Cast.

Sh'miracle

Sh'miracle was born in south Chicago in April, 1997. She is the main character of her film and wants to inspire the next generation making it out of the hood.

Ja'precious

Sh'miracles best friend since age 6 or 7. They came up toegether both pushing each other to success.

T'ron

Ja'precious' brother who's stood by her sisters side the entire way helping anywhere possible.

Charles

Sh'miracles' brother. He was born 1995 in London, England and lived there until 2004 moving to Chicago with Sh'miracle.

About The Crew.

Ta'shawn

DIRECTOR

Ta'shawn was born in 1961 in New Orleans. Growing up poor, he never had access to proper film equipment even though he yearned to be a director. This is his first big project and he hopes it lives up to everyone's expectations!

While Quan usually edits drill rap videos in South Chicago, he wants to branch out. Through Miracle and the block, Quan hopes to get out of the drill rap industry and become a full time film editor

Sh'miralcle

In addition to writing and acting in her film, she will also be a head producer in order to reflect the true story and its events.
